I have information about George Thomas CROWELL. md: Adelia FITE and with 3 sons:
1) Jesse Mark Hill; 2)Marion Fite; and 3) Grover CROWELL, moved from Resaca, Ga. and arrived in Forad Co., TX. in 1887. They were the 1st settles in that area and the town selected CROWELL, TX, for the name of the town. I have no information preceeding their departure from GA. The town is still on the map, and troops from that town have served their country. In past wars. The Chamber of Commerce would like to here from you, and anyone else interested in their town. It is a sparcely populated part of TX, but are very friendly. Some have called it a "ghost town" but don't tell them about it. davidc
