Dear Donald,
Your John who married Catharine Bost was son of Samuel
Crowell and Margaret Sell, and grandson of Simon Crowell
and Elizabeth ____. A good proof came from
his Bible Record which listed names of his children
and some of his descendants. This proof from the
Bible record is as follows: "on Thursday the 25th of
Sept 1828 Grandmother Crowell* her spirit went to experence
the realaties of another world *Elisabeth" This death
date is very similar to the one in the John and Isabella
(McQuilliams)Crowell Bible record which recorded the date
of an Elisabeth Crowell who died 24 Sept 1828 (one day
off)along with death date of her husband Simon Crowell.
A circumstantial proof is that your John and Catharine were
in the Union Co area of Mecklenburg Co., NC along with
other descendants of Simon Crowell.
By the way, Gilbert Franklin Crowell (brother of your
John Wilson Crowell) had a daughter Mary Ella Dare Crowell
who married Squire John Houston Winchester of my Houston family
found in Union Co., NC!
I would love to hear from you via my e-mail address and to know
which of John Wilson Crowell's children you descend from! I
have quite a bit of info on his family especially from
Elias Hampton Crowell and John Lee Crowell.
