James Crowell born 1871 in Massachusettes/Maine

James may have been born Crowley in Massachusettes or Maine. In the 1910 census in Kennewick, WA he said he was a Steamboat Owner and was born in Massachusettes. At that time he was 38 yrs old, married to Maud Bartlett with 2 small children, James Hamilton Crowell (husbnad's father) and Pauline Crowell. The son James always thought his father was born in Maine. In any event, James, Sr. never seems to appear again.

He claimed he was from a shipping family operating out of Maine or Boston.

Any information about this family would be greatly appreciated.
