Dear Andrea Crowell: Thankyou for that informative posting. I will definitely get copies of all of those references, and study them.
Is there any chance that you have any information on Benjamin Crowell, who died in September 1801, in Morristown, New Jersey, or his wife, Mary Bond and her ancestry; and Benjamin's father, Edward Crowell and his wife, Sarah ______, son of Seth Crowell and Allison Eddy? I have tried for a very long time to find information on these ancestors, and have been largely frustrated. I have the administration data for Benjamin, which identifies some of his relatives (see below).
Benjamin Crowell died in September 1801, in Morristown, New Jersey. His Letter Of Administration was presented on 15 September 1801, in Morristown, signed by Zophar Freeman, Jr., and Thomas Eddy, Administrators; and was witnessed by four men: (1) Zophar Freeman, Jr., who was married to Mary Crowell, a first cousin of Benjamin Crowell (she was the daughter of Seth Crowell, Jr., and Joanna Parkhurst); (2) Thomas Eddy, also a first cousin of Benjamin Crowell (he was the son of John Eddy and Hannah Crowell, who was a half-sister to Edward Crowell, Benjamin Crowell's father--even though Hannah and Edward Crowell had different mothers; and a grandson of Seth and Mary Crowell), and a friend of Zophar Freeman (who administered the will of Thomas Eddy when he died in 1813, in Madison, New Jersey); (3) Nathaniel Bond, Benjamin Crowell's brother-in-law (he was a brother of Mary Bond, the wife of Benjamin Crowell); and Daniel Crane. The total value of his belongings, according to the Inventory taken by Daniel Crane, was $119.50. A copy of this letter of Administration is in the possession of Stephen Ralph Boswell.
If you have any information on any of these people, please contact me. Thankyou, and best wishes. ralphboswell@hotmail.com.
