Lynne, I can help you, but not with what you'd call sound data. Your Nathan Crowell is listed in Levi Crowell's 1903 book "John Crowe and His Descendants" at pg. 37-38. He does not cite any sources (very frustrating!).

In case you don't already know this, I'll insert the listing:

NATHAN CROWELL (Christopher, Christopher, John, John, John), b. May 29, 1766. He died Aug. 9, 1815. Married Hannah Hall, March 10, 1791. She died February, 1812.
Children:
Seth, b. Oct. 17, 1792; m. Oct. 24, 1816, Clarissa Paddock. He died April, 1873.
Mary, b. July 21, 1794; m. Judah Paddock. She died 1868.
Betsy, b. Jan. 22, 1797; m. Edmund Sears. She died 1865.
Nathan, b. Dec. 24, 1799; m. Sarah Adeline Howes. He died July 9, 1858.
Joshua, b. Feb. 24, 1801; m. Olive N. Hamblin. He died August, 1881.
Chloe, b. May 18, 1804; m. 1st, Samuel Hedge; m. 2d, Cyrus Howes, Sept. 26, 1858.
Gustavus, b. May 18, 1804; d. Feb. 15, 1814.
Hannah Hall, b. Oct. 20, 1806; d. May 25, 1808.
Hannah Hall, b. Feb. 28, 1809; m. Cyrus Howes; d. Oct 13, 1857.
Barnabas, b. Sept. 5, 1811; m. Sally Howes, Feb. 9, 1835.

Since Levi lists so much information, I think it's likely this family is found in the town vital records. (They appear to be in Yarmouth.) It's interesting that two siblings married into the Paddock family.

I hope this helps. If it's new information for you, let me know and I can list the earlier generations or follow sons Seth, Nathan, and Joshua, as the book does.
