Who is SILAS CROWELL? Lived Green Village, N.J. 1806

"Joshua Conkling injured by the fall of a tree near Great
Swamp and taken to the home of his brother-in-law SILAS
CROWELL in Green Village where he died Jan. 20, 1806. Buried in Elizabeth." Notes by F. M. Conkling.

Is Silas the brother of Joshua's 2nd wife, mother of Benjamin, Temperance and Keziah Bonnell Conkling? Or is
Silas' wife a sister of Joshua?

Any suggestions eagerly sought! This newly found reference
is our first clue to the identity of my husband's ggg grandmother and Joshua's ancestory.
