I notice today on the familytreedna.com site that they were a part of a Crowell/Grauel/and other assorted spellings DNA project that states that they have found a DNA connect between Johan Michael Crowell in you area and Peter Crowel in Mecklenburg Co. NC. Additionally they have found the same related DNA connection between these and a Grauel in Langenselbold, Hesse, Federal Republic of Germany. You might want to access that site and check further into the data there.
