Joseph Crowell (b. 1788 Fredierick Co MD, d. prob Pulaski Co VA) and Mary A. ___are my 2G grandparents and are the parents I have of David Crowell, b. 1841. This is the first time I've seen a maiden name for her! Would you mind sharing your source for her McLaughlin name, Joyce? Joseph and Mary had 13 children, one of whom (Robert Craig, b. 1849 Pulaski Co VA) is my G grandfather.
Joseph's sister Rebecca (b. abt 1810) m. Robert McGlothlin 19 Oct 1840 Tazewell Co VA. I didn't know Henry had a second wife, let alone another McGlothlin/McLaughlin....
Joseph Crowell's parents were Henry Crowell (b. 8 Nov 1760 Berks Co PA, d. Pulaski Co VA) and Rachel Smith, for whom I have ten children listed: George, Joseph, Margaret, John, Henry, James S., Mary, Rebecca, Ann Maria and William. (We're definitely on the same page, Tim.)
Regarding the Root connection, Henry's sister Elizabeth (bp. 1 Aug 1766 Frederick Co MD) m. Daniel Root, though I do not know the family connection to the Margaret Root who m. George W. Crowell, son of Henry and Rachel.
I have some details on some of the children in each of these generations, though of course not as much as I would like. Willing to share and trade what I do have.
