INDEX OF WILLS & INVENTORIES, VOL. II, MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ

All Crowell's [18] listed in INDEX - MIDDLESEX CO. are descendants of EDWARD CROWELL, b. 1680 or their spouses.

FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH CEMETERY, WOODBRIDGE,NJ

Over 50 Crowell's are buried First Presbyterian Church - ALL Related to EDWARD CROWELL b.1680. Most of the families they married into over the years are also buried there. [Where is EDWARD CROW(ell) d.1688 Buried? 11 Crow's buried 1st Pres., earliest birth 1745, latest death 1911.]

I believe the records of EDWARD CROWELL b.1680 and EDWARD CROW(ELL) b. 1685 have been merged.

EAST JERSEY DEEDS, LIBER E, Page 231
1694-5 March 5. Power of Attorney. SAMUEL DENNIS of Woodbridge, having married MARY, the widow of EDWARD CROW, and thereby legally become the administrator of the estate of said CROW, who has died intestate, empowers his wife to manage the estate for the benefit of her children by CROW, vizt: MARY, YELVARTON, JOSEPH and EDWARD; followed by the inventory of the part of the estate, belonging to the children, and the receipt by MARY DENNIS for it on behalf of her children. 326

EDWARD CROW(ELL) DIED in 1688, when son EDWARD, b.1685 was only 3 years old. Did she not marry Samuel DENNIS until 1694-5? When/Where did SAMUEL DENNIS die and leave a will mentioning EDWARD his stepson?

Just to confuse things MARY CROW(ELL), mentioned above as daughter of MARY LOTHROP CROW(ELL) and EDWARD CROW(ELL)married SAMUEL DENNIS, son of the above SAMUEL DENNIS. I have his will of 1720, witnesses: YELVERTON CROWELL, EDWARD CROWELL, MOSES ROLPH signed Samuel Dennes (Six children are mentioned.) Edward would have been age 35 and Yelverton age 42, he died 1724, will, Cape May Co. NJ.

MASSACHUSETTS & MAINE FAMILY HISTORIES, 1650s - 1930s
Cape Cod Library, Volume II, The Crowell Family of Yarmouth; Descendants of Yelverton, Page 1094
Although this volume is pretty through in listing the descendants of The Crowell Family descendants up to the early 1800's, assigning numbers to all male children, the children of EDWARD & MARY LOTHROP CROWELL are listed by name/ birthdate, no numbers are assigned the males AND in every other family grouping the listing goes as follows: name/birthdate/name of spouse/date of marriage. WHY??

Any help appreciated. Becky
