Thanks, will see if I can get the book. The author's middle name is Ross which happens to be one of the families at Woodbridge, NJ. My grandmother was a Crowell from Nova Scotia perhaps of descent from Jos (a loyalist) of Woodbridge. (Am just getting into this and exploring possibilities.) Edward (b 1685 Barnstable MA)would have been step-son of Samuel Dennes of Woodbridge, his mother's 2nd husband. Samuel was the town clerk so it would have been natural for the young Edward to have been a town clerk also.
