Thank you again for prompt reply...it makes perfect sense that Crowe became Crowell...(how,would be very interesting..perhaps something as simple as adding the Roman numerals II to designate another generation..i.e. John Crowe II..) and the original question arose from two things..some posts here discuss with some degree of suredness regarding Cromwell to Crowell ,which I never took too...and my own family folklore believing the same nonsense.
