I did get your e-mail, but I was having other 'puter problems. Sometime I could send then it would not send. Like you mentioned, sometimes you are not sure if it goes or not. I think that one was more of the descendants regarding your branch. I got two on that subject, and I got one about the look-up of Rev War vets. On that subject, I would like to ask a question. When you look up records of Rev War vets, can you access the record even when the vet or widow did not apply for a pension? Can you get only the miltary record ? The reason I ask is that, in NC, I have the obit of a Maj. Samuel Crowell, but I'm not sure if he applied for a pension. What info do you need to look up his record? I have no idea about which state he served with, only that he d. in Halifax Co, NC. That may not be enough info to do a search.
