Robin,
In item 2.; the listing of Ed,Jr(II)'s children. In 1790 census, I find Samuel and his obit, he d. May 30, 1826 (age72) b.abt 1754, he is called Maj. and his 1790 census no.'s are:1, 3, 3, 0, 15. From "Kinfolks of Edgecombe Co., NC; Bradford Crowell was son of Sam'l, with a date of Aug 30, 1813. (can't determine- must be d.o.d?) Also listed is Joseph, (deceased and of Nash Co.); on Jan 2, 1795, his negroes were divided among his three sons. D.o.d. not indicated, but was probably late 1794.

In the Crowell Family Tree; George is listed as a son of Ed,III, but not listed in his will with other children.

In the book; "N.C. Wills: Index, 1665 - 1900" I find Geo. wrote a will in Stanley Co., in 1863. Also, Geo. W. wrote a will in Stanley Co., in 1865. Neither of these two are listed in Ed,III's will, writen 1788. I find no other Geo. in any other list.

Also, in the census, Martha Crowell, is listed as head of household, in Nash Co. the no.'s 1, 1, 4, 4, 0. I do not find a will for this Martha, no other info found, unless she is an unmarried dau. of Ed,III. (one is listed as such in his will). After Ed,III's death, his wife Martha did write a will #911, and her list of children was the same as Ed,III's, except, she included Martha Elizabeth CROWELL HUNTER, this could be the Martha, found in Nash Co. as a head of household, but I have no information about HUNTER.

Then there is the information about Thomas. In 1790 census, he must be over 16. Then in 1793, he writes a will #456, and mentions his wife Mary, that is carrying his child, andmakes provisions for this unborn child. Do you think 1793 is also the year of his death or is it the date of marriage?

I'm going to stop here and dig into more notes, and try to get a package together.
Are we having fun yet?
David Crowell
