I don't have anything that I would consider especially reliable at the moment because I have only recently begun looking up my family history. As I live in California, I also have little access to primary documents or other good sources, especially for information back East. What I have at the moment, though, is as follows: I am descended from a line of Stackhouses from Penn. who fled to NB after the Revolution. In 1812 in Saint John, NB, my ggg grandfather James Stackhouse married an Anna Clark, daughter of Charles Leach Clark and a Hannah Godsoe. Charles, born around 1766 in Manchester, Mass., was the son of Benjamin CLark (b.1732 in Essex Co., Mass) and Anna Leach (b. around 1740 in Manchester). Anna Leach was supposedly the daughter of Joseph Leach (b. around 1715 in Manchester) and Mariam Crowell (also born around 1715 in Manchester). Perhaps her name was actually MAry. I don't know. For example, I have a gg-grandmother whose name is variously been recorded (even in primary documents) as Mary, Mary Ann, and Marion. I don't remember where I got that "Mariam" was the d/o Samuel Crowell, as I just took down the notes quickly, but I shall try to find it. The source indicated that she was the d/o of Samuel and Sarah Allen, both born in the 1680's in Manchester.
