The John Crowell born 29 Oct 1695 is apparently the son of John Crowell of Bass Ponds (the father's line is Thomas2, John1), per all the sources I have here. This includes the (flawed) Levi Crowell 1903 book, which has the following for him (p. 26):
JOHN CROWELL, of Bass Ponds (John, Thomas, John), b. Oct. 21, 1695; m. Experience Higgins, of Easham, March 3, 1719.
Their children are listed there as follows:
John, b. Jan. 20, 1721
Ruth, b. Oct. 18, 1722
Jasher, b. Oct. 28, 1724
Abner, b. Aug. 10, 1726
Shubael, b. Nov. 2, 1728
Thomas, b. Nov. 7, 1731
JEdediah, b. Feb. 16, 1733-4
Genne, b. July 3, 1736
If you are interested in more about any of these children, let me know and I'll type it out for you. This family is also discussed in Cape Cod Bulletins #72 ("The Crowell Families of Yarmouth, Descendants of John" [p. 1110]) and #103 ("The Crowell Families of Yarmouth" [pg. 1604]). These materials date from around the same time as Levi Crowell.
The mother of this John b. 1695 is the real mystery. She is Sarah _____ (whose daughter, from before the marriage to John, was Jane O'Kellia). This is one of the chief likely errors in the Levi Crowell book, that she is identified as "Sarah, eldest dau. of David and Jane O'Kellia." She does not appear to have been the daughter of this couple, per an article published in the NEHGR April 1997 (page 131), "David Okillea of Yarmouth, Massachusetts, and Some of His Descendants," R. Dudley Kelley.
