I was not successful in sending this via e-mail so I am trying it this way. I don't understand why, but the message kept bouncing back to me. Well this is a copy of the e-mail I tried to send to you. I hope this will be of some help.Hello again David, No need to apologize for any typos that may occur. I tend to type too quickly some times and I also make errors that I tend to overlook. Here is a brief history of where my roots come from, to the best of my knowledge anyway. I live in Rhode Island and many of the Crowell's relocated here in the mid to late 1800's. If you don't mind telling me, I am curious where in AL that you reside and I would be interested in whatever information you have on your family tree that you would like to share. I became interested in the Crowell Genealogy, a few months ago, while I was researching my father's tree. It was on his marriage license that I learned my grandmother's maiden name was Crowell. I began to remember my childhood and that my Grandmother (Crowell) Burton was a member of the D.A.R. I became eager to learn who the relative was that fought in the Rev. War. and through what line she became eligible to be a member. I find it hard to believe how that one idea has blossomed into a database of over 3500 people. I have become obsessed with this research and I have also been very lucky, however, I still have not found my grandmother's connection to the D.A.R. David, this is the information I have. It was handed down to me and as yet I have no documentation for the entries, but I am working on that. Good Luck with your search. John Crowe(ll) had 6 children: Yelverton, Thomas, Samuel, Moses, John, and Elizabeth. It appears you are a descendant of Yelverton. I am a descendant of Thomas, Yelverton's brother. I have quite a bit of information on the Crowell Tree, but most of it is not yet documented and some of it is rather current. Some of the information I have has been passed on to me. It is unfortunate that it is not documented. I am not certain of the copyright laws governing the legality of sharing some of this information, so I am sending you a portion of the information I have: It is far to extensive to send via e-mail anyway. I do not see a connection to NC, but perhaps you can fill me in on the NC connection. I think this is the correct family? I hope this information will be of some help you. Descendants of Edward Crowell
