I found one more thing on this 'First Settlers of Piscataway and Woodbridge' that I posted in my first follow up to you.

There is a John Crowell b. Oct.25, 1709 removed to North Carolina. He had a brother Edward born bet. 1713 and 1717.and they were the sons of Edward Crowell JR., son of Edward Sr. and Mary Lathrop Crowell.

It seems possible that this John Crowell might leave a will dated 1760s as you have posted.
