Thanks for your timly reply. I found the Dougherty Family mentioned when searching through some Union County cemetary records (Kimmell Cemetary) which is listed as the oldest cemetary in Union County and is located just south of Jonesboro. The family name is listed as part of the Dunkard Church (German Baptist Brethren). It mentions that in 1826 a Charles Dougherty, the son of Charles and Elizabeth Woolf Dougherty, was ordained as a Dunkard preacher in Union County. It also states that most of the Dunkards left Union County between 1827 and 1831. I wonder if this would be any relation to our mary Dougherty - especially since their oldest child was named Charles?
