Hi I have a few John Crowes in my family to but they don't go back that far.My ancestors came from Ireland the first Crowe that i have is a William B.Crowe born in 1780 thier could be a connection somewhere though.I have a John Preston Crowe who was either born or died in 1813 not sure it doesn't say.
John Murray born 1864-1926,John Wilson born in about 1843,this John Wilson married a Ruth Weaver,

i was told that the name Crowell comes from 2 brothers William and yelverton Crowe who settled in the town of Yarmouth on Cape Cod MA in the late 1630's.Everyone named Crowell
in North America decend from these 2 men.the
name Crowe is an ancient name in England, but may not necessarily be related to the to the crowe brothers. One of the Cape Cod Crowe's had a well and the named was changed to Crowe's well and hence Crowell,All Crowe's on the Cape adopted this name. From there, the Crowells spread out across all of
America and Canada.Crowell is the oldest name on the Cape Code.I 'm not sure how true this is but thought that I would share it anyway.
