I don't do this often but stumbled again across your posting. My great-grandfather was the William Gordon you identify in your third paragraph. I'm also aware of Henry, Moses, Datus (not Daltes), as well as Albertus.
I'm uncertain about the Stella May Draper you mention. William and Edith may well have known one another, but in 1891 William should have been married to my biological great-grandmother, Eliza, as my grandfather was born Sept 2/92. The child bears Edith's surname and I always understood that Edith had never been married before. That implies that Stella was illegitimate and you name William as the father. It's possible, but if you've got a source I'd like to be able to check it. Also, when William and Edith did marry in 1926, 7 years after Eliza died, Edith was an ordained Free Methodist preacher--among the first ordained women in the church in Canada.
