Hello,
I have a few questions regarding this "couple" and hope someone might be able to help!
1. Has the connection between Herod and Permelia been documented? It would appear that they married.
2. Levicy Crowder, born 6 September 1823, was the daughter of Herod Crowder + Pamelia W (this from a bible posted on the LVA web site). She marries James E Smith in 1843.
3. Subsequently in c. 1833 Permelia married Alexander Wells who died 1855 -- she applied for a bounty land warrant upon his death (have yet to acquire any documentation on this)
4. Permelia W Wells died July 10th 186x, age 63 years (info in bible at LVA) ==> this is what 1st connected Permelia W Wells to Herod Crowder and family
5. Purportedly there is a will for her -- that mentions a "son" Herod Crowder ... I have not found in index of Petersburg wills, was it filed in Dinwiddie county?
6. People have alluded that Permelia is related to a Gardner Hood
As you can see, I have lots of tidbits and would appreciate any help better connecting or understanding them!
