After a bit of "Stephen Crowder" and "Grogan" hunting at rootsweb, I see a bit of a problem. Stephen c1743-48, son of James c1725, could NOT be the Stephen married to the Grogan woman.
I see a Stephen Crowder md. to a Nancy Ann Grogan born c1787 and died c1847. And then perhaps this same Stephen remarried to Nancy's sister, Sarah Grogan c1795.
Stephen Crowder is named in the 1851 will of Sarah's father, John Grogan. Thus. . .this Stephen would be born c1785 or somewhat earlier.
This younger Stephen c1785 could be a possible son of Stephen c1743-1748 or a possible son of James Crowder c1755, who is also a son of James Crowder c1725.
I think I have this correct but using only info posted at rootsweb by Grogan researchers.
