My mother's birth parents were Charles Wesley Ozment & Clara Crowder(B: 13 May 1894 D: 23 May 1924) Charles & Clara were married in Hendricks Co, Indiana on 16, Feb 1920. I believe Clara's father's name was Charles Crowder and her mother's last name was Powell. My mother was named Beatrice Catherine(I'm not certain if this was her birth name or if she was renamed by her adoption mother) Mom was born 6 March 1921; she died in 1988. I have a scrap of paper that says Clara Ozment died in City Hospital, Flower Mission which I believe was a charity wing for Tuberculosis patients (Riley Hosp. of Indianapolis). The address: 1310 N. Jefferson St. is also written on this scrap of paper .... which may have been Charles & Clara's home address (likely in Indianapolis, Marion Co, Ind.) The Physician who delivered Beatrice Catherine Ozment was Dr. Raymond Piffle of 371 Mass Ave. The only information my mother ever told us about her birth parents was that her father couldn't take care of her after her mother died. If anyone knows how we fit into the Crowder genealogy line please contact me.
