Y-DNA Project

There is a Crowder Y-DNA project available through Family Tree DNA. With the amount of interest in researching and proving our Crowder lines, this is a useful tool that's not being taken advantage of. The only restriction is that the participant or submitter needs to be a Crowder male, so if you are a female Crowder researcher you need to recruit a brother, father, male Crowder cousin, or uncle to submit their DNA. Go to familytreedna.com, type Crowder into the search box and it will take you to the Crowder DNA project homepage. There you will find much helpful info as well as a project administrator who can answer any questions you might have. You can also order test kits from that page.

The key to the success of this project is participation... having just a few families represented doesn't give enough comparison. So, the more people that participate, the more beneficial it will be to everyone.

For my own line, I would love to see participation from anyone descended from Jeremiah Crowder who died in Guilford Co., NC in 1795.
