Crystal, Hezekiah E. Crowder was born c1750. The Crowder males married into the Choctaw and Cherokee tribes in the early 1700's they came into America working the ships from England between 1668 and 1700 and moved from the James River Colony down into SC/NC as early as 1730 fur trappers trading with the Indians. The CROWDER FORT was established in 1769 on the lines between the two states by Ulrick, Michael, Richard and Nathaniel Crowder, who married into the German Settlement. Many researchers are confused as to where they orginated from and their nationality. In my research I have found they came from the Border Riever clans of Northern England. Thanks, Patricia
