My gr-gr grandmother was Frances Elizabeth Crowder, born April, 1835. She was possibly the daughter of Wesley and Martha Crowder who were in Haywood County, TN in 1840 and 1850. She married James D. Sexton and later moved to Tippah County, MS. After Civil War the family moved to Hamilton County, TX. I think that Wesley Crowder may have been a brother to John W. Crowder (born ca. 1811 Virginia). Would like to share information on this branch of the Crowder family. I assume they may have originated in Dinwiddie County, VA.
