I am also working on the Crowders from Cleveland Co. N Carolina. My husband's father was named James Anderson Crowder. His father was Elijah and his father was James C. married to Rosa. His father was James Who was married to Sarah. He probably died in Cleveland Co. before 1865. His wife, Sarah moved with the family to Laurel Co., Ky and she died around 1870.
