I'm thru Rial Crowder and Angeline Scott. Rial was living in Saline Co. when they married in Pettis Co. in Nov 1849(Saline--where Greenberry Crowder, the Casebolts, and the Grabeals/Graybells were living in 1850). Angeline's family was from Pettis.

I'm not sure how they met yet, but Greenberry was married to a Sarah Scott and, when she and Greenberry died young, evidently their two children lived in Pettis with a James Scott. I know my Adam Scott and William Scott (Angeline's father)of Pettis Co. had a brother named James--so that might be the connection. Most likely Sarah Scott Crowder was one of the Pettis Scott family.

Rian and Angeline were in Macon Co., MO in 1850 and moved back to Sangamon Co. by 1867 when a daughter was born in IL., and then on to Collin Co.,TX by about 1873. They are on the census there in 1880 with a 7 year old daughter born in TX.

My gg-gm was Lenore Catherine Crowder b.1852 in MO, daughter of Rial and Angeline. She married Moses H. Moore in Sangamon Co. in 1870. They came to Collin Co. before 1886 when John Rial Moore was born.

No, I haven't seen the book you mentioned. Sounds interesting though.

I will keep my eye out for Burks.

I think I said that Greenberry and the others were in Pettis in a previous reply, but they were in Saline in 1850. Saline was a part of Pettis at one time and is just to the north of it now. My Scotts were in Cooper Co. on one census, Saline on one census and then in Pettis on the next one--and never moved. Just the county lines moved.
