My grandmother was Nellie Crowder (m. John Clifford Robinson), b. Calendar,Ia in 1897.
Her father was Henry Shurdan Crowder (m. Dora Cook), b. Durand, IL, in 1865. He moved from Iowa to Sandpoint, ID after being victim of two tornadoes.
His father was William Gordon Crowder (m. Elizabeth Otto), b. Dickinson's Landing, Canada (Ontario), in 1841. He immigrated with his father and moved from Illinois to Iowa.
His father was Paul Crowder (m. Ann Holland), b., Dickinson's Landing, Canada, in 1809. They immigrated to Durand, IL (Winnebago Co.) in 1851 and are buried there.
His father was James Crowder (m. Anna Glassford), born about 1749.
His father was William who married Hannah Rous in Kinderhook, NY.
My information comes from my grandmother, my great-uncle who had meticulous Crowder records, vital records, personal visits to Illinois, Illinois/Iowa county histories, and, of course, Norman Crowder's book! I have names/dates from both my own research and my uncles records which include children,etc. I'd be happy to check any names for you.
