Dear Dorthy, Jonathon V Crowder b 1794 in (TN) m Permelia__b 1799 in (TN) abt 1810 ?. Littleberry (Berry) Crowder b 1799 m Mary Polly Mills b 1802 abt 1818. (Jonathon and Berry are Brothers.) John, Berry and a William b abt 1784 were on the PP tax record in Mecklenburg 1815 through 1820 with a John V Crowder over 45. John and Berry then moved to Roanoke and Botetourt VA and lived there until 1854 with Able Crowder b 1785 and James Crowder 1789. They left VA and went to Coles Co ILL. Living there until there death. In 1861 Berry and his wife Mary left Coles, ILL and took their youngest children to Highland, Ohio to stay with a brother during the Civil War. Returning to Coles Co. before the census of1870. I just recieved a family sheet of a Peter Alexander Crowder b 1810/12 b in Bedford City Va, who m Mary Margaret Grass and lived in Fayette Co Va. Henry Crowder a brother m Delilah Lykins. This sheet says they are the sons of James Crowder and Elizabeth Tucker m in Mecklenburg Va.1810 Lived in Botetourt 1820-1860. Now I know James and Elizabeth had 2 sons on the 1820 census under 5 and one of them is James Madison Jr b 1818. Yes there is a connection somehow between all of these Crowders in TN VA OH ILL. I do believe they were in TN in late 1700'returning to Mecklenburg VA by 1810 and then moving west again. Wasn't it possible that they were in a settlement in TN and returned to VA during the Indian Wars? My work is just now in 1819 on my direct line. Thanks, Patricia
