I am looking for any information regarding a Starling or Sterling Crowder. He is listed in the 1785 Head of Household enumeration for Halifax county, VA having 5 white souls. Supposedly he married Martha Patsy Stovall ca 1780 in Halifax. Martha is supposedly the daughter of Bartholomew Stovall who is listed in the 1782 Head of Household enumeration for Halifax county, VA with 9 white souls. I am looking for some sort of marriage record for this couple, and also parentage of Sterling Crowder. It appears Martha died by abou 1789, most likely in childbirth. He migrated to Fayette county Kentucky by 1790, then Jessamine county, which was formed from Fayette, in 1800 tax lists. He remarried there. He is also listed on some marriage bonds of his daughters.
