I found obituaries for Caleb E. and Julia Ann Wilcoxon published in the "Marysville Daily Appeal," dated 3 Jan 1904 and 15 Mar 1904, respectively.Transcripts are available online under "Yuba County Obits" at YubaRoots.com.Caleb's obit reads in part:
"Mr. Wilcoxon was married February 12, 1846 to Julia A. Crow, a native of Charlestown, Jefferson county, Va."
Mary Ann's obit, less specific as to her place of birth, reads in part:
"At her home, Yuba City, March 13, 1904, Mrs. Julia Ann Wilcoxon, a native of Virginia, aged 76 years and 18 days."
Joy Fisher for USGenWeb archives posted at usgwarhives a biography of Caleb written by Tom Gregory in 1913, which reads in part:
"His wife, who bore the maiden name of Julia Ann Crow, was born in Charleston, W. Va., and in very early childhood accompanied her parents to Ohio, thence soon removing to Missouri and settling in Howard county."
Since the Census data consistently report her birth state as Virginia, I believe Tom Gregory was in error, confusing Charlestown with Charleston. Her headstone only lists her birth year and death year.
