Hi Donna,
I appreciate the info you have. The only child I have from Tom & Sara was Mary Ellen who married James Riley Barnes. The only child I have listed from them is Lester Barnes. Going back Tom, and I didn't know his middlw name was Jefferson, is the son of John B. Crow & Minerva E. Willis or Wilks. John B. came from Kentucky & Minerva from Missouri. They had their children in Missouri: William Washington, Thomas Jefferson, John H., Sara E., Martha & James. I have nothing on James. Martha married Joel Dunkel having one child known, Margaret Ann. Sara Crow married John Gholston with one known child, Minerva Gholston. John H. married Frances Poe of which I have 7 children listed. I've mentioned what I had on Tom J., can you please send a clearer line of their children. William Washington is the big story: he was killed in the Salt Creek battle in Young County in May 1869. There are several websites so if you Google it you will get one version of the story. W.W. was the first to die in the battle. There were a dozen cowboys herding cattle when indians attacked. Three died by the following day, only two were not injured. W.W. left behind his wife Nancy Green & 6 children: Minerva, Martha, John Green, Tom, Sara & Bittie, the last being born the year he was killed. My lineage is of John Green Crow who married Willie Jane Pitts. Their second child, Richard Vernon, is my g'g'father. John is also written up along with Willie Jane's brothers in 1880 Texas. It seems one of the Pitts brothers, Dock, was killed by a McGehee. So another Pitts brother Thee or Theo, killed McGehee. He went to trial & was acquitted!! John & another Pitts brother, 'Bill' (William), were arrested for a murder in New Mexico though released, this was about 1886. Then in 1890 John was at a trial for Bill Pitts when he shouted down a juror and was fined for the offense. Bill was convicted.
