Greetings, Pamela!I'm not at all sure that George and Anna are connected to my Crowe tree. I hope you can tell me.My great-grandfather was George Washington Crow.He was born in Noble Co, Ohio in 1842.He married twice, the first time to Catherine Unknown and in the 1870 Census Noble Co, they show two sons, Stephen and Albert V. By 1880 George W. is in Gilmer Co, WV.He is married to a Delilah, and in addition to Stephen and Albert he has two more sons, George H. and Avery James.According to Hardesty George and family moved to Michigan around mid 1880s.In Census research I have yet to find Stephen, but I have a positive identification on Avery James and the father, George W, and a probable on Albert. In 1900 George W. is a boarder in a boarding house in Benzie Co, Michigan. No trace after that.Avery has married to a May Unknown and is living in 1910 in Presque Isle, Michigan.Albert is living single in Midland Co, Michigan in the 1920 Census.
George Washington Crow had another son, his first. He fathered a child out of wedlock with my great-grandmother, Sarah Jane Clark. It is this child, Willis Crowe, the 'e' was added by an uncle of mine about 1900, that is my grandfather. From my research on this family I am almost certain anyone doing a family history on George's descendants would probably miss the son, Willis.
So you see, my posting was a feeler hoping to contact someone who has more information on George Washington Crow and his descendants. They have more "cousins" out there than they realize.
Pamela, thank you for answering my posting, but please contact me via email at [email protected] or write directly to me at 3924 E. Carter Dr, Phoenix, AZ 85040.
