This is Brenda Walker Summers. My maternal aunt Mary Groppel married Cecil Buster Crouch around 1929 near Madison or Jersey Co. IL. Aunt Mary died around 1983 or 1984. His father was James Everett or Everett James Crouch and his mother was Nellie Nixon. James, Nellie and Cecil were in the 1920 Census with no other siblings for Cecil.
This 1920 Census was in Alton, Madison Co., Il. In 1930, my Aunt Mary and Cecil were in the same census with Cecil's parents. Cecil and Mary had children named Ernie, Jackie, Floyd, Anne, Ruth, Stella and Ben. The 2 older boys might have been institutionalized, because Cecil didn't go to court in Edwardsville, Madison, IL to claim the boys. Floyd and the rest of the children were put in a orphanage which was a Methodist orphanage. Floyd ran a way and was always caught. He had been beaten. The preacher was supposed to have been the one who beat Floyd. Ben, the youngest boy, was still in diapers when they all went to the orphange. Floyd was married and lived in Granite City, Nadison, IL near Alton and he died around 1978. He has a son named Kelly whom Ruth and I have talked to on the phone. Stella and Ben were adopted by a couple names Lauchner. Everyone is dead of the children are deceased except Ruth and Ben.
In your posting, Don Mack Crouch married to Billy Joyce Ward, son of Olen and Arlie Crouch did this past November 2, 2009 in Dexter, Mo. His obituary is in the Dexter Daily Statesman in Dexter, Stoodard Co., MO where my relatives are living.
I wonder if My James Everett and Cecil Crouch are in Don Mack and Olen Crouch lines.
