Gotta love the free e-mail addresses that never change- if not for them I'd have missed out on a dozen huge genealogy finds over the years :) I'm interested to hear about this marriage license. Where did you get the information about John giving consent and does it specifically say that he was her father? Might he have been an uncle or grandfather or cousin or older brother, etc.? Since then I have found more information on Jane, though nothing on Charles. Jane's two youngest daughters listed with her on the 1850 census were in fact not Charles daughters, but daughters born to her second marriage to a man named Clapham Keesee which occurred in Boone County in 1843, they were divorced in 1851 and Jane died in 1855. Through her probate records I was able to find her daughters and their married names. So I have been able to narrow Charles's death date down a little more, although I still don't know when or where he died. Thanks for writing! Lena Notify Administrator about this message?
