I would be greatful for any information relating to Robert Crothers (or James Robert Crothers) who, from information in the British census records, was born in South Carolina abt 1801 to British parents. He next appears in Ireland about 1827 where his son John King Crothers was born (mother Elizabeth). He then moved to Scotland (Ayrshire) and then to Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumberland, England where he lived as a Bookseller/Newsagent until he died in 1862
