I am interested in finding information on the members of this family from Cornwall. The progenitor, John Crothers, was a seaman aboard the HMS Drake, according to his marriage record in Stoke Dameral, Devon, in 1762. I don't know where he was born. The name was alternately spelled Crowthers on some of the records. They lived primarily in Illogan, Portreath, Redruth, etc. up until the emigrations from Cornwall in the later 1800s. (My apologies for the length of this list)
