George Washington Crossley was born August 21, 1839 in Montour County, Pa. He was the son of George H. Crossley(Sept 10,1804-Aug 24, 1874) and Leah Welliver(Oct 11, 1807-Jan 21, 1884)of Columbia County, Pa. He was the grandson of James Crossley(Jul 3, 1779-Jan 14, 1830)and Christianna Sidler.
