John B Crossland of Uniontown, Fayette Co PA
Just when I think I have figured out my father's family, I realize that I don't have a real clue!I just saw the 1900 census and my great grandfather and family are listed as follows:
John BJuly 1858 41
Mary E wife May 1858 42
Andrewson Dec 1884 15
Bessiedau June 1886 13
Williamson May 188711
Leonom sp?? dauMay 1893 7
And then in the household (and all of this is my best try)
McKuskin Russell Gr sonMay 1897 3
So here is what I know, or think I know:
John B(arr) Crossland is the son of John M(arshall) Crossland. Both are listed as gunsmiths of Uniontown, PA.
John B's wife is Mary E Varner who was born in Essen Germany. Somewhere I have the ships name that her family come over on.
Andrew (Prentiss) Crossland was my grandfather. He died when my father was 15 about 1934.
Here are some of the things I don't know:
If Russell is a grandson, then who is his mother? The Bessie listed is too young to have a 3 year old.The 1890 census is not available to me and the 1880 lists John B as 21 years old and in the John M Household.
My father's older Brother was Russell Crossland!
Are there any cousins here that have any details?
