Thomas,
Thank you for the reply. My grandfather, Walter Harrison Crossland, was born in Texas in 1895.He told me he was 11 when they moved to Okla. His job was to walk beside the wagon and keep the oxen moving. From what I understand he and Ruthie Pearl Gillespie were married in Keefeton, Muskogee County, Ok. on 11April1917.My mother, Gracie Juanita, was born there.
Joshua Harrison Crossland died in Muskogee, Muskogee Co., Ok. in 1916.In the 1880 census, he was in Sebastian Co., Ark. and in the 1900 they were in Franklin Co., Ark.In the 1910 census they were in Darling township, Muskogee Co., Ok.Joshua's wife, Latha Lucinda Prescott, was full blood Cherokee from Alabama.
I hope this helps some.
Pam
