Having researched the Crossland family for well over forty years I have formed a "HUNCH" about the relationship of some Crosslands from 1760 to 1820 in the southeast.

This is only for clues.. definitely NOT PROVEN!!

SAMUEL T. CROSSLAND; middle name could be Turner/Taylor. Think he married Annie Johnson and thought to be father of Meredith Taylor Crossland born Cocke Co. TN in 1806. This Samuel was born before 1764. He witnessed deed for John and Nancy Brent in Fairfield Dist. SC. He may have served in Rev. War in SC Continental line in 1781. He probably died in Giles Co., TN around 1821. He is on the same page as John Crosslin in 1790 SC census. In 1796, he paid taxes in TN and is on tax list. Had a son named Samuel Hess Crossland.

EDWARD CROSSLAND; Born about 1760. Married Ann Snead. Listed on SC census. Served in Rev. war from SC. Had a son named Samuel Hess Crossland.

JOHN CROSSLAND; Listed on 1790 SC census. Also has arrest record in SC. Thought to have moved to TN. Is this the above John who had a son named Samuel?

JAMES CROSSLAND;

DANIEL CROSSLAND;

WILLIAM CROSSLAND; Found in TN along with Samuel Crossland.

These men were all born in the time frame to have been brothers. They were all in SC and TN. Their children's names are similar.

Can anyone add more info to the above list of 6 ?brothers? Remember THIS IS ONLY CONJECTURE!!!!
