I now have been given information which Crossland and Barnes researchers have documented, which indicates that we are talking about two different Elizabeth Crosslands. The one I'm interested in was born about 1813 in Alabama. She married Hiram Brown, who was born in 1805 in Kentucky. They were married in 1829 in Grundy Co., Tennessee. Their children were Amanda, born 2 Jan 1830 in Brownsville, TX; Mary Ann, born in 1831 or 1835 in AR; John Calvin, 1841 in AR; Thomas, 1845; Ellis, 1949; and Ransom or Ranson, 1851 -- that name was apparently a nickname -- I don't have my notes handy which give his real name but can look them up if need be.
