Franics Marion Cros of Texas wives

Francis Marion Cross of Texas was married three times.

FM Cross and his first wife, Mary Watson, were married in Coryell County, Texas, on January 20, 1856. She died in about 1864.

I am attempting to specifically identify the second wife of FM Cross. Based on the chronological order I have developed, he would have been in Brown County, Texas when he married wife #2, in about 1865. In Francis Marion Cross' book, he relates a story and mentions his second wife’s father as “old father Smith”. This event was at Spring Hill, Navarro County, Texas between 1866-1870. This is to presume her maiden name was Smith. I had also come across information that FM Cross was married to a Nancy Cox, which could have been a married name and she was widowed. She thus could have had the same given name as her alleged daughter, Nancy Christine Cross born Mar 9, 1867, the wife of Thomas Andrew Wilkins, my great grandparents. Nancy Christine Cross married Thomas Andrew Wilkins Oct 26 1884.

After Brown County he subsequently spent four years in Navarro County, Texas, 1866-1871. They then moved to Bell County, Texas, in the fall of 1871. Wife #2 died of tuberculosis in about 1875 in Bell County, Texas. FM Cross and his second wife (Smith) had a second daughter born in Bell County, Jan 7, 1873, Ella Mae Cross.

FM Cross then married Mary Angelina Wilkins, (Thomas Andrew Wilkins’ sister) on July 4, 1877. They remained married until she died in about 1905.

Any information concerning his second wife would be appreciated.
