Fred, I have some information that came primarily from an LDS Ancestral File. It relates to the same family but there are many differences between what you have and the data in the file.
John William Cross, b. 22 Nov 1817 in Muskingum Co., OH, d. 22 Jan 1893 in Iowa mar. Mary Ann Campbell, b. 28 Nov 1837 in Muskingum Co., OH., d. 07 Oct 1918 in Decatur Co., IA. The had dau. Mary Jane Cross, b. 11 Dec 1867 in Davis Co., IA. She died 23 Apr 1938 in Douglas Co., KS. She mar. Joseph Melvin Palmer on 14 Aug 1887 in Decatur Co., IA. He was b. 8 Mar 1859 and died 26 May 1944 in Douglas Co., KS. So, perhaps she mar. Adams first then remarried Palmer rather than died.
