Looking for information on Daniel Cross (born about 1859 in England). He married Nellie Dewey or Richmond (born about 1872 in Wisconsin).
Nellie was the daughter of Austin Dewey and Samantha (Richmond) Dewey. Supposedly, Nellie had a son, Ralph (born in 1890 in Missouri), born out of wedlock and because of the shame she may have taken her mother's maiden name. We know that she placed Ralph in an orphanage in Kansas City, Missouri and he remained there until old enough to get out on his own or until old enough to run away.
Austin and Samantha died at a relatively young age as Nellie and her siblings were found on census records living with other families. Nellie had been placed with a family by the name of Bray and was living there in her teens. We have wondered if Ralph's father may have been one of the Bray's sons as they were of that age or older.

1. Nellie H. born abt 1872 in Wisconsin.
2. James Dewey born abt 1862 in Wisconsin.
3. Willard Dewey born abt 1869 in Wisconsin.
4. Austin Dewey born March 20, 1875 in Wisconsin or Missouri.
5. Lillie Jane born February 8, 1871 in Missouri.
6. Mary Ann Mollie Dewey born abt 1873 in Missouri.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
