I think the Elijah Groom who married Katey Herring had a son Elijah who may be the man you have marrying Indiana Cleopatra. I'll have to check my notes. Is your Elijah from Ga, Ala, La, Miss.? There is an entirely separate set of Elijah Groom/Croom in Tennesee. Also, what approx. dates was your man? Elijah Groom who married Katey DID have a son Needham York Groom, but that is one of those family names that keep repeating.

PS Recently Tom Crooms has a very good explanation, based on strong circumstancial evidence, that the Elijah Groom who married Katey Herring was son of Jesse Groom of Duplin Co, NC.
