My granfather, Walter Curtis Crooks was one of 2 sons born to Harry E. Crooks (b. 1867) and May Elizabeth Fogg Crooks. Walter's brother's name was Elmer, so there must be a connection. Harry's brother's name was Curtis and his sister's name was Carrie.

Harry and May were married on Philadelphia, PA at the Friends meeting house in 1903. They then settled in Ft. Pierce, St. Lucie County, Florida. Harry was already living in Florida when he married May, so I'm not sure when he came to Florida. May died at age 36 and Harry never remarried, so my grandfather never spoke much of his family.

There are so many Crooks with the names of John, James and William that it is difficult to tell them apart and keep them straight. Did your Crooks move to Ohio? I will keep in touch as we cetainly must be from the same line with the names of Walter, Harry and Elmer in common.
