My name is Arthur (Chuck) Swearingen Hunnewell. I find it ironic that last night I was entering ancestors to my Swearingen Family genealogy tree. The Crookers are related to me through my great-grandmother on the Swearingen side who was a Crooker. I recall that the name of Orin Crooker came up on the entries. He may have been her brother. He died in Chicago in 1900. I don't have my notes with me. They are at home.

The genealogical notes that I have for the Crooker family are not complete but do trace some of Orin's relatives up until the 1950's. They were given to me by my aunt and they were in with genealogical records that my grandfather had kept and developed. His information had been provided by a Sylvan Crooker of Purciville (sp?), VA in 1963. He was a 1920s graduate of Carleton College.

I think that Orin Crooker may have come from Fairmont, MN or from that area of southern Minnesota. He may have even attended Carleton College in the late 1800's. Unfortunately my memory is not clear and I may be making a lot of errors. Please let me check my notes and get back to you. on it.
