I am a descendant of the Crook family and there is a good book "CROOK, An American Family" written by Charles Henry Leavitt that covers the years 1698 to 1955. I have a Reuben but must look up Rodney.
The name can be spelled various ways and still be your family line. It started out spelled Crok, Cruke, Crokes, Crooks, and Crookes and is found in very early records in England, Ireland, and Scotland.
